Here is a little background on me. I am in my mid thirties. I am from the mid west, I live in N.W. Florida. I have the opinion that our country acts ignorant and is an embarrassment. We talk a big talk and could care less about the people that make it up. We are quick to point out the faults of others but will not be accountable for our own actions. Our government is always talking about how other countries treat their people so unfairly, at the same time we turn our back, on our own people. Our government tells us everything we want to hear, so we will elect them. The truth of it all is, that it is, all talk. I am sure I will lose visitors over this post, but I do not care. I do this blog to open peoples minds. The news that I post, is to educate people. Some of you are saying right now,"What about all the silly news then?" The silly news is to make us feel good. It is to point out, that with all the crazy in the world, we can still laugh. I want to open your minds to the fact, that we as a country, need to look at the way we live. We need to help each other. Without the people in our own neighborhoods, we are nobody. We need to fix our own homes before we try to fix the world. We can not talk about a country that is more concerned about war, than feeding its own people, when we are just as bad. We have starving babies, we have people that live on the street, we have people that are sick and cannot afford to get healthy. So, why spend money on wars in other countries that do not want us in their country, killing their people? Why spend money on missiles, when there are brilliant kids that will never go to college, because of the environment they were born into? What if that kid, that drops out of high school, to help his or her family with bills, was the next great mind? What if the kid you make fun of for working at Burger King, had the solution to cure cancer or AIDS, but their ideas or solutions will never be known, because of the way our country distributes money. Every one of us are all letting that child down. It is our fault that child will never be great. For the price of one missile, we could have possibly cured cancer. For the price of one fighter jet, we could pay teachers better, to educate the future leaders of the world, things that matter. For the price of one war, we could have given insurance and a college education to every child in the country. For the price of our last war, we could have fed every hungry adult and child in our country. But we dont really care. If we did, we would do something about our own problems. If we really cared, we would help each other to be great. If we were all brave enough, we would all stand up and have our voices heard and take back our country. The " Occupy " movement, that was held by millions around the world, in different countries, I believe is a true start. We elect our leaders! We have more control than we believe. And, with enough courage and enough unity, perhaps with enough stamina, we will, one day....be the country we deserve and be led back into greatness.
